All drivers must be 25 years old and over.

When a driver is under 25 years old must have a minimum of 3 years full driving license and will be charged with 5  euros extra per day (Young Driver Insurance).

All drivers must be in possession of a full EU driving license to present it with an identity or passport during car pickup. For non-EU issue driver’s license an International Driving License is required.

All National or International driving license must be in English or Latin. For young drivers under 25 years old and senior drivers over 70 years old an extra insurance is issued, payable during pickup or payable online when booking a vehicle.

Only drivers approved by the company with their required details written on the rental agreement are allowed to use the rental vehicle.

• Third party insurance with no excess liability is included in the price. The third-party insurance provided according to Cyprus law cover against repairs cost relating from any accident caused by the Hirer to other parties.

• All costumers have the option to select Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W) or TWB (Tyres, Windscreen , Body)  as additional insurance policy for any damages that may occur from a collision on the rented vehicle.

Please note that the insurances provided by Carleone Car Rentals are not providing a full cover of damages for any of our rental vehicles, without any cost. An excess responsibility applies to all Hirers who chose C.D.W or T.W.B insurance with the excess amount being set at €2,000. In the event of a big crash collision, the insured client who paid for both C.D.W insurance + T.W.B insurance, will have to pay only the first €2,000 of the overall damage cost and the insurer (Carleone Rentals Ltd) will cover the rest of the cost.

• All costumers who have only paid for Tires, Windscreen Body partial insurance are only covered for damages that occur on the three mentioned places of the car (Tires, Windscreen, Body of the car).

Important to mention: If the driver has not selected or paid for a partial insurance in the Optional Extras before renting a vehicle, then he is responsible to pay for the cost of ALL the damages (100%) that will occur on the vehicle while under his possession with no excess liability being applicable.

• The Hirer must present a valid credit card in order to pre-authorise a security deposit for the rented vehicle. Minimum amount required for the security deposit is €500 (Luxury cars not included) depending on the duration of the car rental.

The amount is released after the end of the rental agreement (max 15 days) when the vehicle is retuned with no damages, theft or fine violations and the same amount of fuel as it was initially delivered to the client.

•If the hirer wants to rent the vehicle for a long-term period (3 months and above) then the security deposit is 2 months of hire in advance as a security deposit. The amount is released at the end of the rental agreement (max 15 days), when the vehicle is retuned with no damages, theft or fine violations and the same amount of fuel.

The Hirer and additional drivers are insured only for the period mentioned on the signed rental agreement. The insurance cover provided with every rental is considered VOID when the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, when the vehicle is driven off road or in unpaved roads, when an unauthorized person/ not mentioned on the rental agreement is driving the vehicle, when the vehicle is used for any illegal purposes and for bad use of the vehicle.

The Hirer is responsible to stay present during any incident unless advised otherwise by the company or police officer present.

Limitations:

The Hirer agrees that the vehicle cannot be used:

• For illegal purposes, races or for paid carriage of passengers

• For pushing or towing a trailer or other carriage.

• When under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• For driving off-road or on unpaved roads.

• While overloaded by passengers, in other words carrying more passengers than permitted by the registration papers of the said vehicle.

•The Hirer will be held personally responsible for any infraction (accidental or deliberated) of any of the above rules either by himself or by any of the drivers of the car.

He also remains personally responsible for the entire amount of all direct or indirect damages or expenses or costs caused to the vehicle or the owner, regardless of any insurance or other covers or waivers purchased. Further, any infraction of any of these undertakings empowers the Owner to demand return of the vehicle forthwith.

Carleone Car Rentals holds no responsibility for your transportation in case of accident or damages in off road areas. When crossing the border for the north side of Cyprus the insurance is considered VOID. Please bear in mind when visiting the occupied side of Cyprus is at the Hirer’s own risk, as we cannot offer assistance in case of breakdown or accident. Carleone Car Rentals holds the right to claim any amount arise from damages or accident that occur on the north side of Cyprus.

Carleone Car Rentals has the right to charge the Hirer’s or additional driver’s credit card for any unsettled amounts from damages/fines occurred during the rental period.

The Hirer is reponsible to fuel the vehicle with the correct type of gas. If he fails to do so he is responsible to pay for the cost of repair of the car as a result of this mistake (NO insurance is covering for this). The Third Party insurance provided for each rental vehicle is according to the Terms & Conditions of the relevant insurance policy with Hire Risks Pool. In case of accidents insurance does not cover the driver for any costs arising in death or injuries. For any dispute regarding this rental so far as permitted to Cyprus Law. If the Hirer is an individual the court will be chosen according to the local law, whereas if the Hirer is not an individual the court will be chosen according to the place where the Owner has its registration office.

All our vehicles at Carleone Car Rentals are regularly checked, serviced and are road legal according to Cyprus Road Transport department requirements for rental cars.

All vehicles available for rental come with a “Same to Same” fuel policy, fuel level is noted on the rental agreement to avoid any fuel charges.

The rental agreement is the only document required when hiring a car in Cyprus. Our customers during time of pickup receive a rental agreement with a detailed breakdown of all charges and Terms & Conditions of the company. Please have in mind the rental document is an agreement between the Hirer and our company Carleone Car Rentals.

The vehicles shown on our website are for guidance only and the Hirer will pick up a similar vehicle. (Size, transmission & number of doors). Specific vehicle brands are subject to availability. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to respond on time to the vehicle’s panel indications and should call us immediately at +35725 323791 for further assistance. In case of locked keys inside the vehicle the Hirer must contact us for further assistance, please have in mind any costs arise for recovering the keys will be charged accordingly to the Hirer.

We advise our customers when driving around Cyprus for many days, to check tire pressure and oil levels.

Our main branch is located in central Limassol. We offer “meet & greet” services in both Larnaka and Paphos airport and all hotels in Limassol region.

All our vehicles are available for short (at least one day), weekly and monthly rentals. Airport delivery & collection fees are included in our rates. We advise all our customers to provide the correct flight & contact details when booking with us.

The Hirer is responsible to drop off the vehicle on the agreed time, location and with the same amount of fuel as stated on the signed rental agreement. One way fee is applied when changing drop off location. Out of hours fee apply for rentals between 19:00 – 07:00.

For any changes, we advise to inform us within reasonable time via phone at (+357) 25 323791 or email info@carleonerentals.com, to avoid any further daily charges (48hours notice is advised). Please note, during busy times rental extensions are not guaranteed.

If the Hirer fails to drop off the vehicle on the agreed time/date/location will result to extra charges according to vehicle group. All vehicles must be dropped off with the same amount of fuel. There is no refund for any unused days. It is advised to check the vehicle for your belongings during drop off, Carleone Car Rentals refuses responsibility for objects left in the vehicle.

Fines arising during rentals from parking or road violations are the Hirer’s responsibility. If the Hirer fails to mention or pay for any fine the company has the right to charge the Hirer’s given credit card mentioned on the rental agreement.

Administration fee of 20 Euros is applied for fines paid by the company on behalf of the Hirer.

If the Hirer fails to pick up the vehicle on the agreed time & day (with 1 hour grace period) without a fair time warning the reservation is considered a “No show”, no refund is made. If the Hirer cancels the reservation less than 48 hours of the agreed pick up time/date, a 2 days fee is charged according to the rental cost. If the Hirer cancels the reservation at least 48 hours before the agreed time/date, a full refund is made.
